"EL PASO ROCK" !!!
A Great Show With A Vibrant Early Set. A Little More Laid Back After The Break. Hey, You Have To Stretch Out To Relax. And That They Do In Set Two. Quality Recording And Mix. I Remember My Brother Coming Home After The Texas Swing Of This Tour. Raving About The Dead And This Blues Guitarist He Saw In Juarez After This Show. He Would Go On And On About Him Swinging From The Rafters While He Played. We Were Never Able To Find Any Records Or Info About Him. Until,After Hearing Him On N.P.R.'s "Blues Stage" Program. His Name Is Long John Hunter. I Highly Recommend Him To Any Blues Fan. Check Him Out.
Haven't heard the entire show, but this one strikes me as usual '73, definitely competant, but little in the way of that "vibe"....
That Other One decomstruction really is good stuff, and Eyes is as solid as ever. And yeah, yeah, yeah, it's fun to hear Bobby sing "El Paso" in El Paso (and unlike "Jack Straw", Manor Downs, 7/4/81, he doesn't lose the lyrics).

I like the first set a lot better than the second in terms of playing, despite the admittedly staggering other one. The first set is a 5, easy. Overall I give it a 4, since I think the ending jam in the 2 nd set is kinda significant. In this case it's all good, just a little more pedestrian than other 2nd sets I've heard.
texas thunder in el paso.this show rocks especially jack straw thru.set 2 is on fire with jerry in control.its out in the west texas town of el paso....and its pure 73 smokin' fire.

This is no doubt that Dead has to be LOUD! Furthur in Golden Gate Park at Outside Lands last year was Intense with Phil's base literally moving my body during Dew. Then I listen to people who talk about the show who weren't right up front, and it like it was completely different. When your hit be amazing dead you feel it physically!

The sound is off the charts, love the way Phil's bass elevates the music. This has got to be listened to LOUD and with head phones for the 5-star to take effect...
